HOUSTON -- The Memphis Grizzlies have big goals in mind for the rest of this season. At the top of the list on Friday was ending their long losing streak in Houston. Marc Gasol had 15 points and 12 rebounds, Zach Randolph added 15 points and the Grizzlies snapped a 13-game skid in Houston with an 82-78 victory over the Rockets. The teams could possibly meet in the first round of the playoffs, but the talk at the Memphis shootaround was all about beating Houston on its home floor for the first time since April 2006. "Every time we came here, it was on our mind," Gasol said. "We needed this win for many reasons, and that was one of them." James Harden scored 30 points, but missed a potential game-tying jumper from near the top of the key just before the buzzer. Tony Allen and Tayshaun Prince did most of the work guarding Harden, and the NBAs fifth-leading scorer missed all seven shots in the fourth quarter. "We were just trying to make it as tough for him as we can," Allen said. "Through the course of the game, me and Tayshaun were hard on him and made him work and kind of forced him to miss that shot." Memphis has won seven of eight games, while the Rockets lost for the third time in 11 home games. Jeremy Lin had 17 points for Houston and sank a 3-pointer with 1:33 left to tie it at 78-all. Gasol and Mike Conley hit free throws over the next 45 seconds to put Memphis up by two. On Tuesday night, Houston beat Phoenix when Jermaine ONeal was called for goaltending on Hardens last-second 3-pointer. Everyone in the sellout crowd knew the Rockets would go back to Harden again. He faked out Allen for a clear look at the last shot but missed. Harden sank five 3-pointers in the game, but finished 7 for 24 from the field. "They are a very good team," Harden said. "We cant look to score 130 points a game. Weve got to find ways to score when we dont score 100 or 110 points." The Grizzlies top-ranked scoring defence stifled Houston most of the night. The Rockets, the NBAs highest-scoring team, went 23 of 73 from the field (31.5 per cent) and committed 20 turnovers. Rockets coach Kevin McHale had point guards Lin and Beverley on the floor for the start of the second quarter, and Beverley hit a 3 from the corner. Otherwise, the Rockets offence continued to sputter, and Darrell Arthur finished another alley-oop, this one fed by Keyon Dooling, for a 32-22 Memphis lead. McHale had his starters back in for the last four minutes of the half, but Houston didnt reach 30 points until Greg Smiths free throw with 3:05 left. Bayless, back after sitting out two games with a sore right knee, sank a 3-pointer and Prince drove for an easy dunk to put the Grizzlies up 46-30. Houston went 11 for 37 from the field, gave away 10 turnovers and trailed by as many as 19 in the first half. "The first half, I thought we came out a little bit timid," McHale said. "We werent really playing as hard as I thought we had to." Houston chipped away with some suffocating defence of its own. The Grizzlies went seven minutes without a field goal between the third and fourth quarters, and the Rockets tied it at 66-all with just under nine minutes left. Gasol hit a fadeaway jumper with 7:14 left, ending the field-goal drought for Memphis. The Grizzlies defence picked up again and the Rockets were back to the disjointed offence they showed at the beginning. Lin, who had five assists, said the final quarter was a valuable experience for the Rockets with the playoffs so close. "We wanted to win, obviously, but I think we did some good things down the stretch," Lin said. "We gave them a couple of different looks, a couple of different plays and things weve been working on. Hopefully, this will better prepare us for the future." Gasol, meanwhile, was disappointed in the way the Grizzlies finished the game, even though they pulled out the victory. "At least for three quarters, we had pretty good focus," Gasol said. "In the fourth quarter, we didnt do a good job. We were not as sharp executing as we should be." Notes: Allen briefly left after hurting his left hip colliding with Smith in the third quarter. ... Gasol recorded his 100th career double-double. ... Harden has 22 30-point games this season. ... Rockets F Chandler Parsons missed his fourth consecutive game with a strained right calf. McHale expects Parsons to play in two of Houstons final three regular-season games, including the finale against the Lakers. Antrel Rolle Jersey . -- The Saints have placed rookie running back Mark Ingram and linebacker Will Herring on injured reserve, ending their seasons. Jacquian Williams Jersey . The quarterback, however, also knows he cant start calling Haley out when things dont go as planned, no matter how bothered the Steelers captain may get by the playcalling Its why Roethlisberger apologized to Haley, coach Mike Tomlin and owner Art Rooney II after making pointed remarks about the direction of the offence following a 27-24 overtime loss to Dallas on Sunday. http://www.giantsfansteamstore.com/Authentic_Aaron_Curry_Womens_Jersey_Pq_56/ . Harden scored 17 of his 30 points in the fourth quarter, and the Rockets rallied to win their fifth straight, 87-84 over the Minnesota Timberwolves on Wednesday night. Hardens drive to the basket gave Houston (16-12) an 85-84 lead with 39 seconds left. Kevin Boothe Jersey . Tonight will be their fifth road game in their last six overall, and after a quick trip home Friday to pack and take on the Phoenix Suns, the Raptors head west for five games. Dan Connor Jersey . TSN Hockey Insider Bob McKenzie reports that some minor contract details are still to be finalized on the deal. INDIANAPOLIS -- New coach Chuck Pagano is returning to his past to rebuild the Colts future. On Wednesday, the Colts officially re-signed receiver Reggie Wayne to a three-year deal worth $17.5 million and signed free agent defensive end Cory Redding to help anchor Indianapolis conversion of a 3-4 defence. Terms of Reddings deal were not released. Wayne befriended Pagano when the two were with Miami at the same time, Pagano as a coach and Wayne as a player. Redding has played the past two seasons in Baltimore, where Pagano was the defensive co-ordinator last year. "I believed my time was up in Baltimore and my relationship with Chuck the last two years made this very easy," Redding said during a conference call with reporters. "Thats why Im here. Its mostly on Chuck and my relationship with him and doing something special with the Colts." Adding Redding, a 6-foot-4, 298-pound end who is entering his 10th NFL season, marks a change in philosophy for a Colts team that has typically run the 4-3 and relied on smaller, faster players to chase down opponents. The switch to Paganos preferred style could give Indy a whole new look. Last week, the Colts cut defensive captains Gary Brackett and Melvin Bullitt. They also re-signed Pro Bowl defensive end Robert Mathis to a four-year, $36 million contract. In the new defence, the 245-pound Mathis may be a better fit at linebacker. With Redding lining up at end, Pagano now has the bigger pass-rusher he needs on the edge of the line and a player who is already familiar with the system. "The biggest thing is football players are going to be what they are -- football players," Redding said. "I believe with Chucks history and bringing guys in slowly last year, they understood the package so when they got on the field, there wasnt no guessing. They knew what they were supposed to do, and with me helping out and kind of backing him up, I believe we can help the guys learn a lot faster." The addition of Redding is a rare move for a Colts team that has traditionally focused on keeping its own free agents in town. It also could cause more upheaval for a team that has undergone a massiive makeover since January.dddddddddddd After going an NFL-worst 2-14 and earning the No. 1 pick in next months draft, team owner Jim Irsay fired the father-son front office tandem of Bill and Chris Polian. He also got rid of coach Jim Caldwell and most of his staff in January. Then last week, the Colts cleaned the roster out. Gone are four-time league MVP Peyton Manning, Brackett, Bullitt, running back Joseph Addai, tight end Dallas Clark and backup quarterback Curtis Painter. And the next big departure could be Pro Bowl defensive end Dwight Freeney, who is reportedly being shopped by the Colts. New general manager Ryan Grigson would not confirm he was looking to deal or cut Freeney, who counts $19 million against this seasons salary cap. Getting rid of Freeney could save Indy $14 million against the cap immediately. On Tuesday night, word leaked that Wayne, one of Mannings favourite targets, was staying with the Colts -- the same team that drafted him with the No. 30 overall pick in 2001. The 33-year-old Wayne is No. 2 all-time in franchise history in receptions (862), yards receiving (11,708) and TD receptions (73). Plus, Wayne will give presumed No. 1 pick Andrew Luck a steady hand to lean on. "Reggie is a tireless worker who competes at an extremely high level," Pagano said in a statement issued by the team. "Hes always been proud to represent the Colts and we are thrilled to have him back." Grigson isnt finished making moves, either. Earlier Wednesday, the Colts swapped sixth-round picks in this years draft with Philadelphia. The Colts will give up the second pick in the round and will get the Eagles pick (No. 17 in the round) along with offensive tackle Winston Justice, a second-round pick in 2006 who has started 31 games over his career. Notes: Carlie Irsay-Gordon, Casey Irsay Foyt and Kalen Irsay, Irsays three daughters, will now hold the titles of vice chairman/owner ... Longtime general counsel Dan Emerson will now get the title of vice-president and general counsel ... James Bettcher has been hired as Paganos special assistant and Mike Bluem has been named director of football administration. ' ' '
