Franklyn Quiteh seek www.ravensauthenticofficialonline.com/authentic-cj-mosley-jersey.html to silence NFL skeptics

Although they played on different levels, Parkland High grad Andre Williams and Pocono Mountain West product Franklyn Quiteh had a lot in common in 2013.

They were the most prolific running backs on their respective levels Boston College's Williams led Division I A (FBS) with 2,177 http://www.ravensauthenticofficialonline.com/authentic-cj-mosley-jersey.html rushing yards; Bloomsburg's Quiteh paced Division II with 2,195 yards;

They led their teams into the postseason the Golden Eagles to a bowl game, the Huskies to the Division II playoffs.

And both raked in major hardware after the season Williams the Doak Walker Award as the top running back in the nation (he also finished fourth in the Heisman Trophy voting), and Quiteh the Harlon Hill Award as Division II's top player.

Now, as the NFL prepares to disperse the next class of collegiate talent in its annual draft, Williams and Quiteh have something else in common they each have something to prove on the next level.

Williams may have finished with the fifth highest single season rushing yardage total in I A history this season, but pro scouts question whether he can handle the receiving and protection assignments required of today's NFL running backs.

"I know I'm going to have to catch the ball, pass block more, make more reads on defensive fronts and coverages," said the powerfully built 5 foot 11, 230 pounder, who caught just 10 passes in his collegiate career (none last season). "That's what it means to become a professional, to up your level of preparation."

As for Quiteh, who topped 2,000 yards three times in his Bloomsburg career and finished as the No. 2 career rusher in Division II history (7,523 yards), has to shed the small college label and simply seeks the chance to show he can play with the big boys.

"The biggest question everyone asks is, can he do the same things against the guys from bigger schools?" Quiteh said. "I think I answered that in the NFLPA game."

Quiteh ran for 48 yards on 10 carries, including a 25 yard touchdown run, www.ravensauthenticofficialonline.com/authentic-crockett-gillmore-jersey.html in the postseason all star game sponsored by the NFL Players Association.

"I've watched these guys on TV; I've watched them run the football, pick up blitzes, catch passes, and I know I can do it if I'm given the opportunity," the 5 foot 9, 210 pound 22 year old said. "My confidence says I can do it better. I've worked hard I don't ever want anyone outworking me and I just want to go out there and play football and let my play speak for itself."

Quiteh, a first team all state player as a high school senior, isn't expected to be drafted (he's ranked as the No.

"My mind set is, prepare for the worst and hope for the best," Quiteh said.

Williams, who owns BC's career rushing record (3,739 yards) and was named The Morning Call's player of the year after scoring 33 touchdowns as a Parkland senior in 2009, is seen as a third to fifth round pick, although some say he could sneak as high as the late second round. One report said that Cleveland, Pittsburgh, New England and New York Jets were showing the most interest. But whatever is being said or written about him, Williams isn't paying attention.

"Everyone's wearing their poker face right now," Williams said, adding "but it doesn't matter what round [he's selected]. That won't determine how long a career I'll have or how successful it will be."

"I don't have any control over it, and neither do the people who write those mock drafts and things," he said. "I had things to get done, and still do."

His biggest pre draft task was showing skeptics he can do the things today's NFL running backs are asked to do. After Boston College's bowl game, Williams, who graduated in December, headed straight to his brother Ervin Jr.'s home in suburban Atlanta to train at Competitive Edge Sports Performance with Chip Smith. Many future NFL stars have trained under Smith, including the 49ers' Colin Kapernick and the Panthers' Cam Newton, and also on staff at CES is Garrison Hearst, a two time Pro Bowl running back who ran for 1,000 yards four times in his NFL career.

The hard running Williams who has been compared to Earl Campbell and compares his own running style http://www.ravensauthenticofficialonline.com/authentic-crockett-gillmore-jersey.html to that of Adrian Peterson and Marshawn Lynch has been working on his speed and agility. He is also working on his hands, which critics have questioned the most. Asked by the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel to evaluate the top running backs in the draft, one scout bluntly said Williams has the worst hands the scout had ever seen.

"I've never seen them pitch it to him," the anonymous scout said. ". He's working on it, but it's, like, 'What have you been doing for four years?'"

While those words might prompt an "I'll show 'em" attitude, Williams said he didn't even see that report or any others about himself. He prefers not to focus on the positive and not feed off "negative energy.
