TORONTO – The Boston Bruins dominated the first two games of their first-round playoff series Ryan Braun Jersey , outscoring the Toronto Maple Leafs 12-4.

The series will move to Toronto for the next two games with the reeling Maple Leafs left to try to regain their confidence for Game 3 on Monday night at the Air Canada Centre.

“You work all season to build that confidence,” Maple Leafs center Tyler Bozak said Sunday. “Obviously, the first two games didn’t go as planned. You know you want to go in there, get a split for sure and come home with a win, but now we’re just going to have to go to work at home and get both of these games.”

The Bruins’ top line of Patrice Bergeron, David Pastrnak and Brad Marchand has dominated the Maple Leafs.

Pastrnak had three goals and three assists in the 7-3 victory Saturday night as the Bruins took a 2-0 series lead. The 21-year-old right winger became the youngest player in NHL history with a six-point playoff game.

The six points tied Phil Esposito and Rick Middleton for the Bruins’ franchise playoff record.

Pastrnak has nine points through the Bruins’ first two games, which tied Esposito’s NHL and Bruins records for the most points in the opening two games of a playoff series.

“He’s got that confidence,” said Bergeron, the center on the line. “He wants to be the guy. He wants to make those plays. If we don’t have the puck, he hunts it back. … That’s what amazes me with him.

“There’s a lot of skill players that are skilled when they have the puck and when they don’t have it, they don’t necessarily want it as much as this guy right here. So I think he’s taken a tremendous step this year by the way that he plays away from the puck.”

“Terrific and terrific,” Bruins coach Bruce Cassidy said of the way Boston’s top line played at even strength and on the power play.

“I don’t think I can say any more. I mean, you saw it Authentic Richard Rodgers Jersey , right? They’re on (Saturday night). Hard to play against. Really hard to play against, and they play a 200-foot game. You can talk about Bergy and Marchy on the PK too while you’re at it.”

Bergeron and Marchand each had four assists on Saturday.

Maple Leafs coach Mike Babcock had a brief answer when asked Sunday what needed to be done against the Bruins’ top line.

“We’re going to play hard against them,” he said. “We’ve got last change.”

The Maple Leafs did have a 33-28 advantage in shots on goal, including a 26-22 edge in shots on goal when the teams were at even strength. Toronto had a 63-39 lead in shot attempts in all situations, 51-30 lead at even strength.

“Any way you look at it, we’re down 0-2 and we haven’t been as good as we’re capable of being,” Babcock said. “When you go right through it from — the way I look at it is, there are so many things we can do better.

“They scored a goal that was offside, we didn’t have the stuff, we didn’t do that. Our penalty kill hasn’t been as good, we’ve left our goalies alone. We’ve had two too-many-men-on-the-ice penalties where a guy is substituting for another guy.

“All those things, when you look at it, it hasn’t gone very good. That’s real disappointing. In saying all that Bob Feller Jersey , this is our first game at home in front of our crowd. We’re going to be great.”

Babcock removed starting goaltender Frederik Andersen after Boston’s fourth goal in the first period and replaced him with Curtis McElhinney.

Andersen will be in goal Monday.

“Oh yeah, for sure, 100 percent,” Babcock said. “He’s our guy. The puck was going in and it wasn’t going our way, so we got him out. .. we haven’t done a very good job in front of him.

“You’ve got to give your goalie a chance to be good. We haven’t done that. Freddie is our guy and he’ll be back tomorrow.”

Babcock was not certain about the status of center Leo Komarov, who left the game Saturday with a lower-body injury. He was to be examined again Sunday.

“What I’m planning on doing is going without him and then if he shows up, then he shows up,” Babcock said.

The Maple Leafs will be without center Nazem Kadri, who is serving the second game of a three-game suspension for his hit on Boston’s Tommy Wingels during the Bruins’ 5-1 victory in Game 1 on Thursday.

Wingels did not play Saturday because of an undisclosed injury but could return for Game 3. Riley Nash also could return Monday. He has missed seven games with a lacerated ear.

Carmelo Anthony has been the No. 1 option for whatever team he has played on during most of his basketball career.

He knew that wasn’t going to be the case when he arrived in Oklahoma City, though it’s safe to say things haven’t gone as he expected when he signed up to be part the league’s next Big Three.

Playing alongside Russell Westbrook and Paul George, Anthony and the Thunder are headed to the playoffs . He is the Thunder’s third-leading scorer, yet at times it feels like he the fourth option behind center Steven Adams.

Anthony isn’t complaining.

”Acceptance of what I have to do here and what is needed of me,” Anthony said. ”I think the other guys on the team Rasmus Dahlin Sabres Jersey , after they started playing with each other more and more, we started figuring out each other’s game. We figured out what each other brings to the game.”

He has said he wants to win, and he is not just talking the talk.

Late in a critical game against the Denver Nuggets a few weeks ago , Anthony chose not to re-enter in the closing minutes of regulation. Instead, he walked away from the scorer’s table and let 24-year-old Jerami Grant stay in the game.

”I didn’t want to break his rhythm,” Anthony said. ”A lot of guys when they have it going like that, especially role player guys, bench guys, that gives them confidence. You believe in those guys.”

Anthony returned to action when the game went to overtime and his actions left little doubt where he is mentally. A likely future Hall of Famer, Anthony is one of the top 20 scorers in NBA history, a three-time Olympic gold medalist and former NBA scoring champion in 2013.

Not long ago, the thought of Anthony being out of a game at crunch time would have been dismissed as senseless. Now, he’s 33 years old Bills Elite Jerseys , no longer in his prime. He averages 16.2 points per game, by far the lowest of his career, and his minutes also are at a career low.

He’s fine with it all because his goal is his first NBA title.

Anthony’s teammates respect how he has adjusted.

”He’s just an overall good guy,” Westbrook said. ”Does a lot of different things that goes unnoticed. His ultimate sacrifice is number one, and his being a team guy is always important as well.”

Anthony has been an isolation specialist for most of his career, having the ball in his hand and his team clearing out so he can go one-on-one. This season, he has been at his best when taking advantage of the attention Westbrook and George have drawn.

”Those guys are finding me in transition, they’re finding me in when guys collapse on the defensive end and we’re just sharing the ball,” he said. ”I think when we share the ball and we move the ball, everybody feels a part of the game. The rhythm comes, the flow of the game comes because the rhythm is a lot different than what we (the Thunder) had in the past, so we’ve got to find ways, find that rhythm.”

Anthony has had struggled at times finding his rhythm – he’s barely shooting 40 percent from the field. Still Mason Cole Color Rush Jersey , he has shown glimpses of being the prolific scorer he once was. In Sunday’s win over the Houston Rockets, he scored 22 points on 7 for 14 shooting. He scored a season-high 29 points in a win over Cleveland on Jan. 20.

And there are times where his track record still matters.

In a loss to Portland on March 25 , Anthony missed what would have been a game-tying 3-pointer in the final seconds after Westbrook fouled out. Coach Billy Donovan was fine with Anthony having the ball in his hands.

”Carmelo is a proven scorer in this league and has made shots, big shots for a large portion of his career, and I’ve got confidence in him,” Donovan said.

The coach also believes Anthony is a team player.

Donovan said he was fine with when Anthony chose not to re-enter the game against Denver ”because to me, that’s a sign of unselfishness – wanting someone else to do well.”

Grant is averaging 9.4 points per game since the All-Star break in just under 20 minutes of action per game. Anthony is teaching him to be more assertive.

”Since I’ve been here, he’s been with our group – me, him and Paul – the shooting groups,” Anthony said. ”Just talking to him and encouraging him to take a little bit more.”

Anthony believes mentoring is as important as anything he does at this point in his career.

”I’ve been around for a long time,” Anthony said, ”and I want to give that insight and that knowledge to the young guys.”

And capture his first NBA title along the way.
