Colts tailgate tour stops in Muncie

Lucas Wuestefeld is predicting the Indianapolis Colts go 16-0 this season, leaving the 11-year-old Shenandoah student on the far side of the spectrum of optimistic fans. His close friend Cory Evans is still hopeful, just not quite as much. He’s predicting an 11-5 finish for the 2012 team. The pair of friends got a chance to get autographs from defensive back Jerraud Powers and offensive lineman Anthony Castonzo as part of the Colts Tailgate Tour event held Tuesday at AAA Hoosier Insurance in Muncie. The event also featured several other Colts-related booths, including a free exhibit, an appearance by a cheerleader and a team shop stand. Wuestefeld and Evans both took the opportunity Oakley Active Sunglasses to expand their autograph collections by adding Powers’ and Castonzo’s signatures. “It’s fun to meet the players, getting them to sign our hats and stuff,” Wuestefeld said, sporting a hat that’s been signed by several other Colts players at various other events. While Wuestefeld is optimistic about the coming season, he concedes his favorite team will face challenges this year in developing chemistry with a new-look roster. Rookie Andrew Luck is likely to take over at quarterback, Chuck Pagano will be the team’s first-year head coach, and several veterans from last season’s team will not return. Wuestefeld expects to be confused when he sees an unfamiliar jersey number score a touchdown early in the season. “I hope they get to know each other pretty well and work together well,” he said. Powers said he liked the optimism from Oakley Dispatch Sunglasses fans like Wuestefeld as Indianapolis tries to improve on a 2-14 2011 season. “They’re thinking like we’re thinking,” Powers said. “Last year is last year. That season is over, nobody’s thinking about it anymore. So this is the beginning of a new year and you never know how things will shake up. So why wouldn’t you go out there and say, ‘My team is going to win 12 games this year, my team is going to go to the Super Bowl, my team is going to do this or that.’ You should, as a fan, because you never know how a season will turn out.” Another optimistic fan, Ball State student John DeMoss, sported a Luck jersey and was the only fan spotted wearing a jersey of the No. 1 draft pick during the early part of the event (a few other fans wore Luck T-shirts). DeMoss said he thinks Luck is capable of a strong www.towholesaleoakleysunglasses.com rookie season and the offensive and defensive lines will be improved. He’s also a fan of the new coaching staff’s defensive scheme. DeMoss is hoping those factors will make his favorite team more competitive against the rest of the AFC South. “I expect them to win the division, honestly,” DeMoss said. “Maybe that’s a little optimistic, but I expect them to win it and make the playoffs.”
