New England Patriots reunite McCourty brothers after trade with Cleveland Browns for Jason

too.,Authentic Ben Roethlisberger Jersey,In the NFL this time of the year, things happen quickly. Apparently,Womens Le'Veon Bell Jersey, they can also be undone quickly

Just one hour after the Cleveland Browns announced  they were terminating the contract of cornerback Jason McCourty Thursday – one of among 10 transactions they publicized – the team traded McCourty and a seventh-round draft pick in the 2018 draft to the New England Patriots for a sixth-round selection in 2018.

That means McCourty will join his twin brother, safety Devin,Authentic JuJu Smith-Schuster Jersey, who is a staple in the Patriot secondary.

who agreed to terms with the Tennessee Titans earlier this week as a free agent.,This will be the first time the brothers will play on the same team since their college days at Rutgers. Jason presumably will help fill the void left by the departure of cornerback Malcolm Butler

When news about Jason’s potential release emerged earlier Thursday,Womens Cameron Sutton Jersey, Devin posted a message to their shared Twitter account, beginning his campaign to bring his brother on with the Patriots.

and he left no doubt that he’ll be great fit for the New England football culture in which his twin brother Devin has thrived for his entire career.,Jason McCourty held his first conference call as a Patriot on Tuesday

even if it’s admittedly always going to be his brother’s locker room.,While this will be his first season with the team – and Devin is a vocal leader and veteran captain – Jason is confident that he can bring the same skills and attributes the table

“I just want to go be myself, not try to go in there and say, get there, ‘I’m this 10-year veteran and I’ve been a leader here. Let me lead you guys,” said McCourty. “But just going in and being myself and get to know them to figure out what my niche is and where I’m going to fit in on the team, get accustomed to the guys in the locker room, so I’m just kind of going in open-minded, ready to work and just ready to do whatever it takes to help the team succeed.”

Jason was a leader and captain on the Tennessee Titans, where he played for eight seasons before landing with the Browns in 2017, and he said that he and Devin came up together and learned to be students of the game from the same man –Greg Schiano.

The former NFL head coach and current Ohio State head coach spent 11 seasons coaching Rutgers, the program from which Bill Belichick drafted four players in a three year span: Devin McCourty in 2010 and Logan Ryan, Duron Harmon and Steve Beauharnais in 2013. Obviously Schiano must’ve been doing something right with the players he recruited because they caught the attention of the NFL’s best football mind.

Jason credits his college head coach with in instilling in both him and Devin the desire to become true students of the game.

“Being there under Coach [Greg] Schiano – he can be a tough guy to play for but the one thing you’re always going to respect about Coach Schiano is the way that he worked,Womens Ben Roethlisberger Jersey,” said McCourty. “He spent a lot of nights in that office and he was a grinder. I think for a lot of us there that went to Rutgers… we kind of got accustomed to that amount of film study, the amount of knowledge that was poured into us as far as football. I think that just continued to carry over. We came into the league as students of the game all wanting to know as much as possible.”

Obviously the way that Schiano coached his players at Rutgers helps prepare them for leadership roles on a Belichick team, because as Jason pointed out, a handful of them went on to become defensive captains for the Patriots.

“It just speaks volumes to Dev being the captain there, Duron being the captain there, Logan being a veteran with experience while he was there and now carrying that over to Tennessee. Authentic T. J. Watt Jersey,I would say my mom and Rutgers had a lot to do with just the type of leaders and the type of players that we’ve become.”

This sounds like Suh won’t be taking any additional meetings. He started his free agency tour with the Saints, then met with the Titans before heading West to visit the Rams. He cut his West Coast swing short, which may not be good news for the Titans.

Rapoport’s comment in his tweet that the “Rams made a strong impression” on Suh,Womens Antonio Brown Jersey, combined with his cancelled meeting in Oakland doesn’t bode well for the Titans chances. Perhaps he just had a change of heart and decided he wouldn’t sign with Oakland no matter what, but it’s telling that he didn’t even visit the club.

while the Saints only have about $2 million according to Over the Cap.,The Titans have about $38 million in salary cap space. They’re followed by the Rams at $28 million

but the Rams slew of offseason moves and the opportunity to play next to Aaron Donald might be too much for the Titans to overcome.,Authentic Le'Veon Bell Jersey,Tennessee could conceivably offer the most money

the Titans will have to wait with everyone else.,Multiple reports have surfaced saying Suh isn’t in a rush to make his decision. His cancelled meeting in Oakland is telling though. There’s a chance he just didn’t want to sign with the Raiders and he’ll take some other meetings. It could also mean he already made his decision. Either way

adding depth to a depleted defensive tackle rotation after Haloti Ngata's departure last week. ,Womens T. J. Watt Jersey,The Detroit Lions signed free agent Sylvester Williams on Wednesday

The Lions announced the move in a news release. Contract details were not included.

Williams, where he made 11 starts and finished with 20 tackles. Williams, 29,Authentic Cameron Sutton Jersey, spent last season with the Tennessee Titans, released by the Titans on Saturday, also played four seasons (2013-16) for the Denver Broncos, who drafted him 28th overall in the 2013  NFL draft out of North Carolina.

With the addition of Williams,Womens JuJu Smith-Schuster Jersey,  the Lions have five experienced defensive tackles on their roster in A'Shawn Robinson, Akeem Spence, Jeremiah Ledbetter and Christian Ringo.

Defensive tackle already was a need for the Lions entering free agency. But it became even more of a necessity after Ngata signed a one-year deal with the Philadelphia Eagles on March 15.

Nothing has changed for the Titans at their biggest position of need. They can’t do without some younger, more explosive athletes at outside linebacker. Their pass rush off the edge lacked badly a season ago, and incumbent outside linebackers Brian Orakpo and Derrick Morgan are both free agents who’ll both be in their 30s after this season.

and would benefit from grabbing multiple players at that spot.,A light free agent market for edge rushers made it clear the Titans would need to go after that position early in the draft

leaving an enormous vacancy next to Wesley Woodyard on the front seven. Second-year player Jayon Brown is a fine player,The departure of Avery Williamson was expected, but whether he left impacted how big of a need inside linebacker would be. He officially signed with the New York Jets, but he’s not a realistic three-down option. Tennessee could still sign a free agent linebacker to make up for the loss of Williamson, but drafting one in the first two days seems like a certainty.

Josh Kline’s return made guard a less dire need, and his fit in Matt LaFleur’s offense don’t make him a lock to return to Nashville. Corey Levin spent last season on the 53-man roster, but question marks about Quinton Spain’s value on the free agent market, but was inactive in every contest, and backup guard Brian Schwenke was underwhelming in a relief role. With Levin’s inexperience and Schwenke on the free agent market, additional guard depth is a necessity for the Titans.

but with little effectiveness.,Center Ben Jones wasn’t stellar last season either. He was wildly inconsistent after anchoring the Titans stellar offensive front the year before. The issue for the Titans is that Jones is the only center on their roster. Levin played there some in the preseason

They have a couple options at this spot in the draft. They can either go with a center early if they believe he can be a Day 1 starter, or they can try to find a versatile offensive lineman later in the draft who can play center along with other spots on the line. Jones can be cut for relatively little cost this season,Authentic Antonio Brown Jersey, which means his replacement could be coming in this year’s draft if the Titans feel they can get a productive Day 1 starter at center.

The Titans released Matt Cassel in hopes of finding a more effective backup quarterback. Their only move to address that spot was a meeting with former Jaguars backup Chad Henne. With the free agent quarterback market drying up fast, it looks like any free agent signing will be a lateral move from what they had. With only Alex Tanney and Tyler Ferguson behind Marcus Mariota on the depth chart, finding a young quarterback who can fit LaFleur’s offense in the event that Mariota misses any time may become a priority late in this year’s draft.
